Jacek Budyń Szymkiewicz, Sebastian Pikula, Adrianna Styrcz, Jacek Mazurkiewicz

Anyone who has ever met Budyń – the stage alter-ego of Jacek Szymkiewicz known from the “Pogodno” and “Babu Król” bands – knows that he is a dynamic and unpredictable artist. Known as a vocalist, author of music and brilliant lyrics, the king of Polish alternative, he presents himself now as a charismatic poet of everyday life.

He invited the composer Sebastian Pikula – a multi-instrumentalist responsible for sound and virtuoso lightness of “Miąższ” band, and researcher of Polish traditional music. They join forces, resulting in a fresh and alluring material. In January 2020, Miss Adrianna Styrcz – a Wrocław singer – joined the project.

This is an eccentric, funny concert, full of tenderness and musical coquetry. Budyń in its best version skillfully combines a heavy caliber of his own experience with intimacy of poetry. He balances on the border between stand up, actor song and poetic slam. His poems about broken hearts and mistakes related to life choices, dressed in Pikula music, acquire noble minimalism pampered by the violin or harmonium bass.

premiere of the album 14 February 2020
